What the Italian Conversation Club actually is

A clear look at Martina’s four-week Italian speaking group: who it is for, what happens in a session, and why the WhatsApp chat matters.

The Italian Conversation Club is not a lecture and it is not a grammar course with a different name. It is a small, four-week speaking group for learners who have some Italian already and want to use it with less hesitation.

You arrive with the words you have. We give them somewhere to go.

A little group, not a crowded class

There are usually four to six people in the group. That is enough to hear different voices and questions, but small enough that nobody disappears into the background. Everyone speaks.

It is a good fit if you can manage a simple conversation but still find yourself translating in your head, losing your words, or avoiding speaking altogether.

What happens in a session

We meet online for 60 minutes each week. Every session starts with a real-life situation: ordering at a café, making plans, asking for help while travelling, or making small talk with someone new.

Then we talk through it. You try, get stuck, find another way to say it, and try again. Martina keeps the conversation moving and corrects the things that will make the biggest difference.

The WhatsApp group is part of the course

Between sessions, the group stays in touch on WhatsApp. It is a relaxed place to ask a question, share a phrase you heard, or celebrate the moment you used Italian out in the world.

That small thread between lessons matters. It keeps the language warm, and makes the next conversation feel less like starting over.

Who it is for

If you are unsure whether it is right for your level, book a free first lesson or send Martina a message. We can work it out together.

  • learners who want more speaking practice than an app can offer;
  • people preparing for a trip, a move, family time or everyday Italian life;
  • anyone who wants a kind place to make mistakes before the real conversation.

Why conversation and group study unlock a language faster than studying alone

Understanding is not the same as speaking. Conversation, particularly in a small group, trains the skill that quietly holds most learners back.
